First Aid - Hands
•Rinse wound with running water.
•Apply direct pressure to control bleeding.
•Cover with a sterile dressing.
Sprains and strains
•Immobilize injured part.
•Apply ice or cold compress.
•Support with a thick bandage and elevate.
Blisters
• Leave skin unbroken. Avoid further irritation and pressure.
• If skin is broken, apply sterile dressing.
Chemical burns
•Flush area under
cold water for at least 10 minutes.
•Remove any contaminated clothing.
• Cover with a sterile dressing.
Suspected broken bones
• Immobilize and support injured part.
• Elevate if possible
Minor heat burns
• Soak in cold water for at least 10 mins.
• Do not break blisters or apply ointment.
• Cover with a sterile dressing.
