Gotu Kola
(Centella Asiatica)
Also called: Indian pennywort, tiger grass.
Source: Native to tropical Asia, where it is commercially cultivated;
also grows in Hawaii and other tropical areas.
Medicinal Uses: Internally for improving memory, reducing
stress; externally to relieve inflammation and help heal wounds. Considered
a rejuvenating herb in ancient Ayurvedic tradition.
Parts used: Whole plant, leaf.
Forms available: Teas, capsules, tinctures, tablets; ingredient
in bodycare products. Some products are standardised to 10 per cent asiaticosides.
